Come with us to do Morning Chores Feeding! Great for all ages 10 and up (must have parent/guardian on session also present at all times). We take you to our different paddocks to do feeding and care for the animals. We do rotational grazing and sometimes the animals go to different paddocks. Great opportunity to see what the animals eat and how they’re cared for. We love our animals and care deeply for them. During this session, we will have you come along with us as we visit our animals and feed them guiding you on how much and what to give to each animal giving ample time for questions and pictures. You will get the opportunity to meet the animals up close and learn about them. A very hands-on session.
$50 for 2 people, $7 per person each additional
What does this offer?
Never work a day in your life if you enjoy your work. We’ll show you how much fun farming can be - outside in the fresh air, seeing friendly animals, and the best one, God’s peace. Of course, there are frustrating days when things don’t go right, or you have to deal with things are aren’t at all fun but here we get to recognize and witness God’s provisions for us and His miracles such as baby animals being born and the bond between mother and child. When you see the intricate details of the honeybee willing to travel up to 5 miles for pollen and their amazing attributes there’s just no question. Join us for some fun!
Education
Want to start your own farm? Interested in learning more about a specific livestock animal? This would be a great session for asking some of those questions. We can’t cover everything, but this is a good start. Our livestock is spread out between four different properties, so we’ll just be working at our one property in Deep Gap. We currently have cattle (beef and dairy), sheep (dairy and meat), pigs (meat and pasture raised docile Kunekunes), mini donkeys, alpacas, goats, poultry, livestock protection dogs and honeybees. We practice rotational grazing with some of our animals and also use permaculture for our vegetable, fruit tree, and berry gardening. We are always still learning but happy to share our information with you.
